3I Stacius Ling (19)

The Service-Learning was a whole new experience for me as I have hardly been exposed to doing any type of community work before. My class's Service-Learning was based about having to take care of children at a daycare centre. The greatest obstacle would be able to be able to communicate with the children, but the best moments are the ones when I get the satisfaction of knowing that I am helping and teaching the children how to read.

I think that the Service-Learning has somewhat changed me in a sense that I no longer view myself as the centre of the world and opened up to people around me who need help. In the long run, I do see myself helping people in the community when I grow up as I have learned that what goes around come around. There are always people in the world who need help and for me to render my assistance to someone means that that person would be able to help someone out in the future.
